Adding a second story to a brick home was compounded by the house being situated outside of the allowable building area. The house also had two front yards so appearance from the street was doubly important. Cues were taken from nearby houses and the prow-type roof was used to give the addition a sense of place in the neighborhood. Clean lines and strong shapes lend the house a feeling of timelessness.
